Episode 27 – How Firefly Was Saved By Fox

Yes. Yes, this is a fertile land, and we will thrive. We will rule over all this land, and we will call it… “This Land.” I think we should call it “your grave!” Ah, curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal! Many think that Fox betrayed Joss Whedon and Firefly, but in a way they actually created a cult following for the show.  On This week’s episode we talk about Firefly’s Martyrdom and how it created the passionate Brown Coats, and even more popularity for the show than their Marketing department ever did.

Some of the other topics that we discuss are our favorite characters, our favorite episode, the music, crowdfunding and where we would like to see the Verse head to next.  In the news we cover some drama boiling up in the Salt Lake Comic Con Fan Group over VIP perks and the death of a horror legend, Wes Craven.  If Alfred Hitchcock is the father of suspense and horror, then Wes is the son that took the family business and grew it 10 fold. It’s always hard to lose an icon, but he will be especially missed.
