Hogwarts House Sorting – Episode 39

Here’s my theory. The Harry Potter trio are actually representations of the other houses. Hermione is Ravenclaw, Ron is Hufflepuff, and Harry is Slytherin. They’re all in Gryffindor because they asked. In fact, everyone in that house could have been in another houses if they hadn’t asked to be in Gryffindor. You have be ask to be in Gryffindor because their most defining feature is bravery, and anyone can choose to be brave.

So what does it mean to be Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff or Slytherin then? We discuss that and also some of the Recent changes on Pottermore.com. We also discuss whether Hufflepuff gets a bad rep or not and would a new name help the image of that house? Perhaps its time to rebrand.

  1. I was able to see MJpt2 on Thursday. Originally I was upset that they split the movies, it seemed like a money grabbing ploy. But now I am glad they did. That book is just so intense and dark, compared to the others (you know dark compared to other stories about kids who kill other kids) that you really need to split it up. Part 2 is SO intense. I can’t imagine seeing that whole story compressed into one 2 1/2 hour movie. And I know Nik mentioned my opinion in the podcast, but I want to amend it to say that I am kind of desperate to see it again. I could never have watched it twice in a row, but now that I have had a chance to digest it a little, I really need to see it again.

  2. Plus, Celestina Warbeck is mentioned a few times through out the series. She is a favorite of Molly Weasley. I think they listen to her while they are cleaning No. 12 Gimmauld Place, and/or during at least one Christmas celebration.
