September 9th Comicbook Review

I am so stoked going into this week, but a little sad.  And it all stems from 1 issue.  This will be the last issue of Rebels which has been one of the best titles I have ever read.  I hope it lives up to all of the hype I just gave it.  I also get some of my current favorite titles this week; Outcast, Giant Size Little Marvel AvX, and Ninjak.  There were quite a few #1s this week,…

Giant Size Little Marvel AvX #3 The twins tour each teams tree house.  In the X-men tree house they go on an ice roller coaster, get fastball special-ed by Colossus, turned into mutants by Beast, and go through a training session in the Danger Room.  Then in the Avenger tree house they get de-mutated, visit Asgard, bypass Captain America’s workouts, and fail at operating Iron Man’s twin mind designed armor.  The explosion of the armor launches them into the sky…

Giant Size Little Marvel AvX #2 Two new kids, twins, move in to town.  Both Giant Size Little teams invite the new siblings to their secret club houses.  They aren’t very secret considering they are 10 feet away from each other.  Before brother and sister arrive the teams erupt into an all out brawl.  Overall this series is one of the funniest, kid friendly, stories to come out in ages.  I love Skottie Young’s art and storytelling.  If you are…

Black Widow #18 Natasha kills the head of Chaos, quits SHIELD, and lets her “lawyer” go; and that’s only the first half of the issue.  Natasha talks with the Avengers about coming back on the team.  Then she sails off with her cat.  Not alone, but not close to someone.  Cause no one can know her full story.  Just when it looks like the perfect end the last two pages give us another tease.  Overall this series has hit it…

Silk #3 Silk is throwing down with a dude looking like a dragon.  We find out Silk knows him from before, Pokemon Man.  After he throws a van on her we see a flashback to her being locked up.  Cindy kind of loses it on dragon dude.  He gives up and they have a heart to heart TN about why he is after her.  She helps him out with his situation only to be attacked by the baddy that sent…

Outcast #7 – It had been a while, so it took me a minute to remember what had happened. If you aren’t aware of Outcast it is written by Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead), drawn by Paul Azaceta, and colored by Elizabeth Breitweiser (who is amazingly nice). The story is just getting rolling and Kirkman is doing a great job of establishing a base for a great series. Overall this issue was basically a stage setter, the end of act…
