Join us this week as Joe Darowski from the Protagonist Podcast discusses the comic “The Far Side” with us. Like usual he brings his in depth knowledge of all things geeky and his fun banter.
The Far Side is a single panel newspaper comic that debuted it the San Francisco Chronicle. It features the work of Gary Larson and over the years has been an interesting take on the relationship between humans and Animals. There are probably just as many or more anthropomorphized animals featured in this comic as there are Humans. Its surrealistic humor is often based on uncomfortable social situations, improbable events, an anthropomorphic view of the world, logical fallacies, impending bizarre disasters, (often twisted) references to proverbs, or the search for Meaning in life. Larson’s frequent use of animals and nature in the comic is often attributed to his background in biology.
We are not including his comics in the show notes because of the world’s nicest Cease and Desist letter ever written. You can read it here http://www.portmann.com/farside/index.html?home.html
